Bank Holiday Photoshoot...

This May Day Bank Holiday I managed to schedule an hour with a friend of mine who is a semi-pro model, and a very satisfying hour it was too. Put your dirty minds away! I mean there were some good pictures that came out of it!!

This is just great!

I clicked through to this from WilWheaton's blog - wow! I mean clearly the students at UCSC have waaaaaaaay too much time on their hands, but wow!

Hooray, yet more US Gov bullshit designed to distract people from their own shortcomings

Having read the piece (I strongly recommend you do as well dear reader) I am firmly convinced that this poor misguided bugger is the victim of a witch-hunt + scapegoat search = PR win for the real fuck-ups...

I mean seriously, this guy was (admittedly illegally and out-right stupidly) looking for supressed evidence about UFOs, not attempting to bring the US military network down - 45 years he faces! That's not justice that's peevishness - I'm off to head over to the "Free Gary Blog" mentioned in the piece...

Murder will out, they say...

Wow! even though this is by no means concrete, the corroboration / support that it gives for strong theories that were already out there is interesting in itself...

All hail King Knut!

I can't believe that Nadja and I did not go and see him - we will have to go back to Berlin; oh what a shame. Still even he will not be able to stop the tide of visitors this Easter weekend, so I think we'll go on a weekday sometime...

Whedon Win!

Go Joss, go! At last the truth is known! Ok, ok, so I'm actually not that foaming a Whedon fan, in truth, and Star Wars is and will ever be my first love (child of the 70's me), but this has got to be the most telling zeitgeist temperature indicator in a decade - criminals are cooler than Jedi...

WIDLW

Last weekend, my beautiful girl and I went to Berlin to see NiN play LIVE...

It was utterly incredible - if you get the chance to see them, then go - do not 'consider' it, do not ruminate, simply make sure that you go...

Clipmarks is cool - check it!

Yes, you can accept Apple's logic that "it all just works" straight out of the packaging, but there are better reasons for moving to a Mac than a factor that's just as true of modern PCs these days.

Now there's an x86-based PC sitting under the hood of every modern Mac, the old battle lines are blurring. Time to reconsider the once expensive, always stylish, now Unix-based Mac platform? We say yes.

Mmmmm Picasa...

I am a dreadful tart when it comes to people giving me free space to post my photographs, so when I realised that Google have made it "easy" to post images to Picasa Web from my Mac, I had to give it a try...

And so it begins...

I have finally taken the step of getting back to exercise... For those of you that don't know me I have been failing to exercise for quite a while now, and despite an overall downward trend in my weight (which has been planned and successfully sustained thus far) and my continued cessation from smoking, my fitness has not been improving.

So what exercise am I doing? Tai Chi, as it turns out. I have enrolled in an intial 10 week beginners course with the CIAA and I have to say after only one session I __do__ feel the benefit. That is not to say that I think the hill is climbed; far from it, but I am surprised both by how much effort it took to do a 2 hour session and how good it made me feel to make that effort. I think, moving forward, that I will have to do an amount of purely aerobic / cardiovascular exercise as well, which I think will probably mean going running, but the biggest battle has been fought and won - I have gotten out of the house to do a new, active activity.

I will let y'all know how it goes - after all I have had to lay out £100 up front!
